Tivoli — Quick Facts

Paid entry. General admission ~155 DKK adult, ~70 DKK child (3–7) at the gate — cheaper online. Rides are separate: pay per ride or buy an Unlimited Rides wristband (~250 DKK).
Hours vary by season. Regular season: Sun–Thu 11:00–23:00, Fri–Sat 11:00–24:00. Halloween and Christmas seasons run different hours and dates — always check today's hours before you go.
Go after dark. The lights, the lanterns, the Chinese pagoda over the lake — that's the whole experience. Aim to arrive around sunset and stay for the Friday night fireworks (summer only) if you're there on a Friday.

    Copenhagen's Brooklyn

    The single most interesting neighborhood for local shopping. Multi-ethnic, creative, food-obsessed. If you only pick one, pick this.

    • Jægersborggade — the perfect single street (natural wine, ceramics, Coffee Collective HQ, Juno the Bakery)
    • Assistens Cemetery — H.C. Andersen and Kierkegaard are buried here; doubles as the neighborhood park
    • Superkilen — the wild multi-colored public park designed by BIG
    • Ravnsborggade — antiques, vintage, cafés

  • Vesterbro / Meatpacking (Kødbyen)

    former slaughterhouses, now bars & galleries

    Central-west, walkable from Tivoli/Central Station. Meatpacking = white-tile warehouses turned into restaurants, galleries, and clubs. Around it: Værnedamsvej, 'Copenhagen's Parisian street.'

    • Værnedamsvej — cheese, wine, small boutiques, feels French
    • Istedgade — was rough, now indie boutiques and cafés
    • V1 Gallery — contemporary art in a former slaughterhouse

    Post-industrial island east of Christianshavn. Reach it by harbor bus 991/992 or bike. Best on a nice-weather afternoon.

    The little streets running north-south OFF Strøget in Indre By. This is where the local independent stuff hides while tourists trudge the main drag.
