Cult neighborhood bakery in Vasastan, famous for some of the best cardamom and cinnamon buns in Stockholm. Grab a bun for the road — you've got about a 3 km walk home and plenty to see along the way.

The little pedestrian street the bakery sits on. Lined with cafés, wine bars, and terraces — often called Stockholm's most 'Parisian' block. Worth a slow stroll before heading south.

Big neighborhood park with playgrounds, lawns, and (in winter) an outdoor ice rink. Perfect kid-decompression stop between the bun and the walk downtown.

The main artery of Vasastan — a wide, tree-lined street packed with independent boutiques, delis, wine bars, and neighborhood cafés. Zero tourists, all locals doing their Saturday errands. A great way to feel how people actually live in Stockholm.

Turn south onto Sveavägen and watch the mood shift from residential Vasastan to grand-boulevard Stockholm. Wide sidewalks, design shops, and the assassination site of PM Olof Palme marked in the pavement at the corner of Tunnelgatan.

Stockholm's main pedestrian street — 1 km of Swedish chains, street performers, ice cream, and window shopping. Just let it carry you south toward the water.

Lively square with a daily fruit, flower, and produce market spilling out under the Concert Hall's blue columns. Grab a strawberry punnet or a bag of cherries and keep walking.

Detour one block east for Stockholm's chicest shopping: Acne Studios, Filippa K, Totême, COS, plus international houses. Even window-shopping is a mood — beautiful storefronts and prime people-watching.

Stockholm's central park and living room — fountains, cafés, chess boards, and (spring) a famous cherry-blossom avenue. Great place to sit for 10 minutes before the final push.

The bridge that crosses from Norrmalm to the Old Town, right in front of the Royal Opera. Stop mid-bridge for the classic postcard shot: Palace on the left, Storkyrkan spire behind, ferries below.

Gamla Stan's main pedestrian street, curving through the Old Town from north to south. Souvenir shops mixed with small design boutiques, chocolate makers, and jewelers — touristy but genuinely fun to wander with the cobblestones and pastel façades.

The pastel merchant houses on the oldest square in Stockholm. Sit for a coffee or just take the photo everyone takes. Two minutes from your door.

If the kids still have gas: two blocks south of Stortorget is the narrowest alley in Stockholm — 90 cm wide, 36 steps. A 5-minute detour that always gets a reaction.

Stockholm's oldest church (1279), right next to the Palace. Duck inside if it's open to see the medieval St. George and the Dragon sculpture. Otherwise just admire the exterior on the way past.

The Airbnb is right next door. If you time it around midday you might catch the Changing of the Guard in the outer courtyard on the walk in.
